Helping Everyone Feel Welcome and Understood

Who Are Our Young Interpreter Ambassadors?

Our Young Interpreter Ambassadors are pupils trained in Year 4 who support children with little or no English. They use their excellent linguistic skills to help new arrivals feel welcome, safe, and valued as part of our school community.

What Do They Do?

  • Support Communication: Assist with simple translations and explanations during lessons and activities.
  • Help in Class and Playground: Make sure pupils understand routines and feel included in learning and play.
  • Promote Inclusion: Encourage friendships and celebrate different languages and cultures.
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate mutual respect and tolerance at all times.

  • Build confidence for pupils learning English.
  • Encourage respect and understanding of different cultures.
